Nellore: In a shocking incident, atleast seven people have reportedly died in a stampede after Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu reached Kandukur in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday to address a public gathering.
According to reports, thousands of TDP workers were present at the gathering where the incident took place.
According to Nellore Police, atleast seven people have been reported dead while the injured have been shifted to the nearby hospital for further treatment.
Amid the reports of stampede, Chandrababu Naidu cancelled the public event and later visited the hospital to meet the injured. He further announced ₹10 lakh as ex gratia to the kin of each of the victims.
