FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral picture, and found it to be misleading.

To check the authenticity of the viral picture, we ran a Reverse Image Search for both images separately.

Image 1:

A British stock photography website Alamy had published a picture, dated May 11, 2020, that matches the viral image. The description informs that it is from Howrah Junction railway station after India announced a limited re-opening of its giant rail network beginning after a nearly seven-week lockdown.

We found the same image on Livemint as well.

Image 2:

A tweet by the Eastern Railway on their official handle, dated August 13, 2020, informs that it’s the intensive cleaning of station platform and track at Asansol on the occasion of the observance of ‘Swachhta Saptah’ from 10 to 16 August, 2020.

One of the images in the tweet matches with the second image proving that it is from 2020 as well.

So, we can conclusively say that the viral picture is misleading.
