Kolkata: India beat Sri Lanka as they seized the three-match ODI series with a 2-0 lead on Thursday at the Eden Gardens.
Indian bowling attack remained dominant in the first innings as Sri Lankan batters managed to put up a total of 216 runs for the chase.
The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill managed to give a strong start to the innings. However, both were dismissed as Sri Lanka tried to make in-roads in the opening overs of the match.
Virat Kohli failed to hit big as he was dismissed by Lahiru Kumara at the very start of his innings. KL Rahul played an impactful and crucial inning for the side as he returned unbeaten at 64 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav made a powerful comeback with his magical spell of 3/51 in the innings. Siraj managed to pick three wickets as well in his spell.
India will now move-ahead to play the final match of the series in Thiruvananthapuram on 15th January.
