A video of ice coming out of a pipe is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that the video was taken recently in Rajasthan.

The post is shared with the text: देख के रह जाओगे दंग. राजस्थान के शेखावाटी क्षेत्र में हाड़ कंपा देने वाली सर्दी।सिंचाई के पाइप में जमी बर्फ…!! (English translation: You will be stunned to see. Bone-chilling cold in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region. Ice frozen in irrigation pipes)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be old.

Running a keyword search, we found the same video shared on YouTube on December 30, 2018.

The same video had been shared by The Indian Express on January 4, 2019, with the headline: Cold Wave in Haryana causes water to freeze in pipes.

A tweet by Samaa TV dated January 1, 2019, mentions that the video is from the Khuzdar area of Balochistan in Pakistan.

NewsMobile independently couldn’t verify the location of the video. But it is clear that the video has been on the Internet since December 2018.

Thus, it can be concluded that the video is old.
