Dhanbad: Five people, including a doctor couple, were killed in a fire at the residential complex of a private hospital in Dhanbad early on Saturday.
According to SSP Dhanbad, Sanjiv Kumar, the deceased include the medical establishment’s owner Dr Vikas Hazra, his wife Dr Prema Hazra, the owner’s nephew and domestic help.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has condoled the deaths. “Deeply saddened by the news of the death of 6 people, including the doctor couple Dr Vikas and Dr Prema Hazra, in the late night fire at Hazra Memorial Hospital in Dhanbad. May God grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this difficult hour of grief,” CM Soren tweeted.
