Date:

A picture of the coronation emblem for King Charles III is going viral online. The image contains a typo on the emblem where it states ‘Conoration’ instead of ‘Coronation’. Many users have shared the image mocking the royal family for the blunder in the official emblem.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: Looking forward to it, whatever a CONORATION is…

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

The official Twitter handle of The Royal Family carries a tweet, dated February 10, 2023, where the image of the emblem was launched.

The tweet and the image match the viral photo, but here the spelling of ‘Coronation’ is correct as compared to the viral image.

But a tweet by Adam Kay a British comedy writer, dated February 11, 2023, carries an image with the wrong spelling in the caption, indicating that he might have edited and shared the viral post.

Another tweet published by him on February 12, 2023, addressing the “Readers added context” tag on his previous tweet, mentions that it was indeed him, who photoshopped the original emblem and made it ‘Conoration’ instead of Coronation.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post’s claim is fake.
