New Delhi: A heartwarming exchange between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Padma Shri Shah Rasheed Ahmed Quadri from Karnataka, where he claimed to PM Modi how he was proven wrong by him.
When PM Modi came to congratulate Padma Shri Shah Rasheed Ahmed Quadri, a Bidri artist, he explained to the Prime Minister that he earlier believed that he would never get the award during BJP’s rule.

He said “During Congress rule, I didn’t get it (Padma Shri). I thought the BJP government would not give it to me but you proved me wrong.”

PM Modi was seen smiling at the comment and reciprocated it with a namaste. While speaking to ANI, Quadri further added “I tried for 10 years to get this award. When the BJP government came, I thought I will not get this award because BJP never gives anything to Muslims, but PM Modi proved me wrong by choosing me for this award”.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards including three Padma Vibhushan, five Padma Bhushan, and forty seven Padma Shri Awards.
Some of the Awardees included Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Late Mulayam Singh Yadav, Author and Philanthropist Sudha Murty, Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon and Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ composer MM Keeravani.
