Doing a Reverse Image Search, we traced a news report by OneIndia, dated November 21, 2018, carrying the viral image with a headline: “RSS worker gave a check of ₹1 crore for the construction of Ram temple.” The article further reads: “Former Sangh Chalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has donated ₹1 crore for the construction of Ram temple in Pratapgarh, UP.”
Searching further, we found a news report by the Hindustan Times, dated November 22, 2018, with a headline: “Amid Ayodhya build-up, RSS man announces ₹1 crore for the temple.” According to a report by Amar Ujala dated August 2, 2020, Siyaram, who had donated his lifetime capital for the construction of Lord Shriram’s temple in Ayodhya, later received an invitation to witness the foundation stone laying ceremony of the temple.
Moreover, Rishi Sunak was elected the prime minister of Britain on October 25, 2022, almost two years after the date on this cheque. We also could not find any credible media report corroborating the viral claim.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral claim about Rishi Sunak donating ₹1 crore for the construction of the Ram Temple is false.
