NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.
Running a simple Reverse Image Search of the picture, we traced multiple media reports from 2018, featuring the same image. According to an article in the Metro UK, the picture was taken in 2018, during the FIFA World Cup celebration.
“Members of a huge crowd of fans light flares as they celebrate France beating Croatia (Picture: Getty),” the caption of the post reads.
Since the picture was attributed to Getty, we checked for the original picture on the website of Getty Image.

We also checked the website of AFP as the original image was attributed to them.
NewsMobile fact-checked the same image in 2020, when it was shared as French citizens protesting against Covid-19 restrictions.
