I Will Return My Medals: Wrestling Coach Mahavir Phogat Amid Protests Against WFI Chief

Chandigarh: Amid the ongoing protest of wrestlers against WFI chief, Dronacharya award-winning coach Mahavir Singh Phogat voiced his support of the protesting wrestlers and threatened to return all his medals if justice is not delivered.

Mahavir Phogat while speaking with PTI said “I will return my medals if justice is not delivered in the case,”.

He further added “The kind of allegations he faces, action should be taken against him and he should be arrested,”.

When asked if he had talked to the government or raised the matter at the party level, he said, “No there has been no talk so far.”

The wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat are protesting against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh demanding his arrest over the alleged sexual harassment charges of seven wrestlers, including a minor.

After being mistreated by the Delhi Police officials on Wednesday night, the wrestler also threatened to return their medals including Padma Shri.
