Fact Check: Viral Video Showing A Child Offering Prayers In The Middle Of Road Is NOT From India  

A video showing a child offering Namaz in the middle of a busy road is widely shared on social media claiming that the clip is from India. 

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “संख्याबल और धार्मिक एकता की ताकत देखो । केवल जातिवाद का और सेकुलरिज्म का नारा लगाने वाले पढ़े लिखे मूर्ख हिंदुओ देखो, एक मुस्लिम बच्चे के कारण पूरी ट्रैफिक का रूट बदल जाता है यह लोग संविधान को भी अपने तरीके से चलाते है बस कुछ टाइम और 30 से 40 % होने दो फिर देखो क्या क्या करते है” (English translation: Look at the strength of numbers and religious unity. Look at the educated fool Hindus who raise slogans of casteism and secularism only, because of one Muslim child, the whole traffic route changes, these people also run the constitution in their own way, just some time and let it be 30 to 40%, then see what let’s do it)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING. 

Performing a Reverse Image Search, we traced a tweet carrying the same viral video on January 17, 2023, with a caption: “How does one country produce so many rectums? How does Pakistan do it?”, hinting that the video might be from Pakistan. 

Closely going through the viral video, we spotted the TikTok username ‘@ajom75uddin’ in the bottom right corner. 

The original video had been uploaded on January 10, 2023, on Ajom75uddin’s Facebook page by the username @ajom75uddin. 

According to this Facebook profile, the user’s location is Dubai.  

1. Checking the Dubai traffic police on Google, we identified a picture of an “Arkan” security guard shared on Glassdoor’s website. According to Ejadah‘s website, Arkan is a security company offering its services in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In addition, we also found an interview with a security guard of Arkan on YouTube. His uniform matches the uniform of the security guard present in the viral video. 
2. The background of the video shows a man wearing the uniform similar to that of a food delivery executive. Conducting a reverse image search, we discovered several images of food delivery executives donning a similar dress and logo. And the uniform and logo belong to Talabat, a food delivery service operating out of Dubai.

Thus, it is clear that the viral video is most likely from Dubai, not India. Therefore, the viral claim is misleading.
