Meet Linda Yaccarino Who Will Replace Elon Musk as Twitter CEO

Washington: Elon Musk on Friday announced that a new CEO will be taking over Twitter in about six weeks.

Musk, in a tweet, said, “Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in 6 weeks! My role will transition to being executive chair and CTO, overseeing product, software, and systems.”

He further added that his role will transition to being the executive chair and Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

According to the Wall Street Journal, Linda Yaccarino will become the next Twitter CEO.

Who is Linda Yaccarino?

Linda Yaccarino is a top executive at NBCUniversal Media. She holds the position of Chairman, Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBC, and according to her LinkedIn profile, she has also served as President, Cable Entertainment and Digital Advertising Sales.

At NBCUniversal Media Linda is responsible for stewarding the company’s industry-leading portfolio of linear networks, digital and streaming platforms, distribution partnerships, and client relationships. Yaccarino oversees all global, national, and local ad sales, partnerships, marketing, ad tech, data, measurement, and strategic initiatives.

Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal Media in 2011 and has been working there ever since. She has held several executive posts at NBC.

Before joining NBCUniversal Media, she had worked at Turner (a global entertainment, sports, and news company) for more than 19 years. Yaccarino served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Advertising Sales at Turner Broadcasting System.

Linda attended Penn State University, where she pursued a degree in liberal arts and telecommunications.

Linda Yaccarino has received numerous awards and honours throughout her career. New York Women in Communications honoured her with a Matrix Award. The Hollywood Reporter’s “Women in Entertainment: Power 100” and Variety’s “Power Women of New York” Yaccarino was inducted into the B&C Hall of Fame, received the UJA Foundation’s Mac Dane Award for Humanitarian Excellence, the Distinguished Alumni Award from Penn State University, and has delivered the Don Davis Lecture in Advertising Ethics.

She has also been recognised as one of Business Insider’s “Top 10 People Transforming Advertising” and Adweek’s “Ten Most Powerful Women in TV.”

During a recent advertising conference in Miami, Yaccarino interviewed Elon Musk. She praised Musk’s impressive work ethic.

While there are talks of her becoming the new CEO of Twitter, Reuters reported that Yaccarino did not respond to the comment.

However, when asked for comment, an NBC spokesperson said, “Linda is in back-to-back rehearsals for the Upfront,” referring to NBCUniversal’s presentation for advertisers in New York on Monday.
