WhatsApp’s New Feature Allows Users To Edit ‘Sent Messages’ In 15 Mins, Here’s How

Date:

California: WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that grants users the ability to edit sent text messages for up to a 15-minute timeframe.

The function, which was initially being tested on WhatsApp’s beta for Android, iOS, and the Web interface, has started rolling out and will be available to users globally in the coming weeks.

Meta head Mark Zuckerberg took to Facebook to announce the new feature he posted, saying, “You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 minutes after they’re sent.”

” We’re excited that you’ll now have more control over your chats, such as correcting misspellings or adding more context to a message. WhatsApp said so in a blog post.

How To Use It

Whatsapp, in a blog post, gave instructions on how to use the new feature. Here is how you can edit your message:

In order to edit the sent message, one needs to long-press the sent message and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu for up to 15 minutes.

When a message is edited, the word “edited” will appear beside it, so the person you are texting is aware of the correction without knowing the edit history.

WhatsApp has said the messages and the edits made are protected by end-to-end encryption.
