IPL 2023: CSK Beat GT By 15 Runs To Qualify For Final

Date:

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings made it to Indian Premier League 2023’s Finale as MS Dhoni’s squad won Qualifier 1 match today against Gujarat Titans. Kings made a smashing entry into the finals by beating Hardik Pandya-led Titans by 15 runs.

The tricky playoff was played at Chepauk Stadium, where Pandya’s team won the toss and elected to field. Playing the first innings, CSK couldn’t escape the challenging pitch, which resulted in a slower run rate for them. Consequently, the team yellow could only score 172 in 20 overs with seven wickets down.

Ruturaj Gaikwad turned out to be the ace player for MS Dhoni’s team as he scored a 44 ball 60. CSK kickstarted the innings on a good note with the top-order batsman performing well but the momentum couldn’t be carried ahead with the middle-order batters falling one after the other.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans had a hard time chasing the target, as the team struggled to even breach 120 within 16 overs. GT’s top-order batters failed to shine today with Shubam Gill making an exception as he scored a 42 off 34 balls. The team was only able to chase 157 with all wickets down.

Now it is left to see who else will make it to the IPL 2023 finals to compete against CSK.
