Delhi HC Seeks WFI’s Response On Wrestlers’ Plea Challenging Exemption Given To Vinesh, Bajrang

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Thursday seeks a response from the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on the plea moved by wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal over the exemption given to wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat for direct entry into the Asian Games 2023.

Wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal approached the Delhi High Court on Wednesday challenging the direct entry of the other two wrestlers.

Justice Subramonium Prasad directed the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) to file its response on Thursday itself. The case will be heard on Friday.

Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal have challenged Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat to be exempted from participating in trials for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.

The event will be held between September 23 and October 8 at Hangzhou, China.
