Delhi HC Dismisses Plea Challenging Direct Entry Of Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat In Asian Games

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Saturday dismissed the petition filed by wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal. The plea sought to challenge the exemption given to Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia for the Asian Games trials.

Wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal approached the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, challenging the direct entry into the Asian Games of the other two wrestlers.

In their petition, the wrestlers have requested that the trials be conducted in a manner that ensures fairness and equality for all participants. Additionally, they demanded the entire selection process be videographed, and no exceptions should be given to any wrestler.

The event will be held between September 23 and October 8 in Hangzhou, China.
