Even ‘Indian Mujahideen’, ‘PFI’ Include ‘India’ In Their Names: PM Takes Swipe At Opposition

Date:

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scorching attack on the opposition over its uproar in the Parliament regarding the Manipur issue, suggesting that they seem determined to stay in the opposition without working in the interest of the public and moving the nation forward.

Speaking at the BJP’s Parliamentary Party meeting, PM Modi emphasized the significant improvement in India’s global image and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continue working in this direction.

“Our efforts have elevated India’s standing on the world stage, and we are resolute in our dedication to progress,” said PM Modi during the BJP meeting.

Furthermore, he laid out his vision for India to become a “developed nation” by 2047, marking the end of the “Amrit Kaal.”

“By 2047, we aim to transform India into a developed country,” he declared.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Adding to the chorus, Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior BJP leader and former Union minister, expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s return to power in 2024, citing the high expectations the nation has for them.
  • “We are firmly on track to reclaim power in 2024. The opposition alliance knows they won’t come to power; hence, their negative demeanour will only lead to further disintegration,” asserted Prasad.
  • In a striking remark, PM Modi took a swipe at the opposition’s newly formed alliance I.N.D.I.A during his speech, comparing the Indian National Congress’s origin to that of the East India Company, stating that both were founded by foreigners. He pointed out that even certain groups like the Indian Mujahideen and People’s Front of India (PFI) include the word “India” in their names.
  • Meanwhile, the suspension of AAP MP Sanjay Singh from the Rajya Sabha drew strong reactions from BJP Lok Sabha member Manoj Tiwari, who likened Singh’s conduct to that of a street ruffian.
  • “His behavior in the Upper House is reminiscent of street ruffians,” Tiwari remarked.
  • The BJP’s Parliamentary Party meeting, which began earlier on Tuesday, focused on devising a strategy to counter the ongoing disruptions by the Opposition during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
  • The discussions also covered crucial organizational matters involving party MPs.
  • Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha faced repeated adjournments during the Monsoon Session due to the uproar caused by the Opposition, demanding a statement from the Prime Minister on the situation in Manipur.
  • Notably, members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) also held a meeting at the office of Congress national president and the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, to strategize their floor management before the Upper House resumed its session.
  • The Monsoon Session, which commenced on July 20, was marred by constant interruptions and protests from the Opposition alliance, disrupting legislative business on multiple occasions and centering their demands around PM Modi’s statement on the Manipur situation.
