Mumbai: The much-anticipated trailer for the captivating series ‘Taali,’ featuring Sushmita Sen, has been unveiled, leaving the audience in awe as they witness the remarkable journey of the actor’s transformation into a transgender activist.

The actress took to Instagram to unveil the trailer.

“Gauri aa gayi hai. Apne swabhimaan, sammaan aur swatantrata ki kahaani lekar. #Taali – Bajayenge nahi, bajwayenge!” she wrote.

Sushmita’s bold role as the real-life transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant, has heightened audience anticipation.

Shreegauri Sawant, once known as Ganesh and raised in Pune, played a crucial part in the landmark 2014 Supreme Court verdict that recognized the transgender community as the third gender. Sushmita can be seen leading the third-gender fight in the trailer.

Reacting to the trailer, fans showered praise on Sushmita Sen’s performance, calling it a “Blockbuster performance”, while another fan wrote, “Sushmita Sen is a phenomenon…what a journey from winning miss universe to Taali.”

Directed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, written by Kshitij Patwardhan, and produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar, and Afeefa Nadiadwala, “Taali” is set to release on August 15 on Jiocinema.
