India’s Digital Revolution On Spotlight At G20 Summit; Delegates to Experience UPI Payments: Muktesh Pardesi

Date:

New Delhi: In addition to presenting India’s diverse culture, unique crafts, and rich cuisine during the G20 Summit, India aims to highlight its advancements in the digital realm.

In an exclusive interview with NewsMobile Editor-in-Chief Saurabh Shukla, Muktesh Pardesi, Special Secretary responsible for coordinating the G20 Summit in Delhi, emphasised India’s commitment to showcasing its digital transformation on global stage.

“We have focused on the role of digital public infrastructure and how digital transformation is helping countries like India to leapfrog in terms of development,” adds Pardesi.

“Wherever meetings have taken place on the side lines of the relevant meetings, we have done exhibitions to showcase different aspects of the digital transformation and at the summit, we are creating two items for the benefit of leaders, ministers and delegates. One is called Digital India Experience Zone and the second one, RBI is putting together once again a stall on how digital payment is made,” he said.

Furthermore, he added that the exhibitions at Bharat Mandapam will offer delegates the opportunity to observe and acquire exquisite artworks, all within a streamlined digital payment system. Pardesi emphasised, “ When delegates arrive at Bharat Mandapam, during their spare time, they will have the opportunity to explore all the exhibitions and witness how payment is made digitally in India, how UPI or Aadhaar and other kind of digital platforms have been created and how it’s helping us in development. This is one story which you would like to share with the global world.”

Pardesi further informs that they are organising an exhibition titled ‘Bharat, the Mother of Democracy’ to illustrate the roots of democracy in India.

“There is an exhibition called “Bharat, the Mother of Democracy.” This specially curated exhibition, done by the Ministry of Culture, features different panels showcasing how democracy was rooted in Indian civilisation during the Vedic age and how it has evolved over time,” he said.

The upcoming G20 Summit in New Delhi, bringing together the 18th gathering of G20 Heads of State and Government, will mark the culmination of a year filled with various G20 meetings and processes involving ministers, senior officials, and civil societies.

Following the New Delhi Summit, a G20 Declaration will be adopted, reflecting the leaders’ dedication to the priorities established during their respective ministerial and working group meetings.
