Chak De India’ Actor Rio Kapadia Passes Away at 66

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Rio Kapadia, known for his roles in films like ‘Chak De India’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan, has passed away at the age of 66.

The news of his sudden demise was confirmed by his friend Faisal Malik and has left the industry in shock. The exact cause of Rio’s death remains unknown as the family has yet to release a statement.

Reports indicate that Rio Kapadia’s cremation is scheduled for September 15 at the Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. He leaves behind his wife, Maria Farah, and two children, Aman and Veer.

Rio Kapadia had an illustrious film career, featuring in a variety of movies. In ‘Chak De India’, he played the role of a sports commentator. Rio also graced the silver screen in movies like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Mardaani’. His last reported role was in ‘Made in Heaven Season 2’, where he played the character of Mrunal Thakur’s on-screen father.

The actor remained active on Instagram until June of this year. During that period, he posted a message on the platform, revealing that he was enjoying a vacation in Paris. In his post, he shared several pictures from his trip and wrote, “Back again to the final leg of the European trip! Back to Paris. Had to see Paris in the eve from the Eiffel tower and have some last dinners in the beautiful city.”
