Fact Check: No, Time Magazine Has NOT Issued A Cover Depicting Justin Trudeau As Hitler

Date:

An image purportedly showing a Time magazine cover depicting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as Adolf Hitler is doing rounds on social media.

The cover read, “The Return of History…How Trudeau Shattered America’s Dreams.”

A social media user shared the image with the text, “Am I supposed to be shocked that the same party who forced experimental injections on the population and created a two-tier society for the “clean” and the “dirty” invited a SS Nazi and gave him a standing ovation? #TrudeauCrimeMinister #TrudeauGottaGO #WEF #TrudeauLiberals”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be false.

The date in the viral image read Feb 28- March 7, 2022. We checked the TIME vault, a segment where the magazine keeps the archives of all its covers but we could not find the cover in the archive.

Time magazine also released a cover on February 25, 2022, and another on March 3, 2022. One cover showed a tank with military forces on it followed by the text “The Return of History,” and another featured the words spoken by the Ukrainian President in a speech to the European Parliament on March 1, 2022: “Life will win over death, and light will win over darkness.”

Earlier, NewsMobile has debunked similar ‘TIME’ covers juxtaposing PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin with Adolf Hitler.

Thus, from the above, it is clear that the viral post is false.
