New Delhi: Virat Kohli and KL Rahul displayed exceptional skills, leading India to a victorious start in the World Cup 2023 with a six-wicket triumph over Australia in Chennai on Sunday.
Rahul remained unbeaten at 97 (115), and Kohli delivered an impressive 85 (116), forming a vital 165-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
This partnership was crucial as India had a challenging start, reduced to 2-3 in the second over. Their collective efforts enabled India to chase down the 200-run target with 9.4 overs to spare.
Meanwhile, the Indian spin trio, consisting of Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav, played a crucial role in India’s success by limiting Australia to a modest total of 199/10 in 49.3 overs.
Jadeja claimed three wickets for 28 runs, including a notable pair in the same over. Additionally, Kuldeep secured two wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin contributed with one.
