FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team identified a YouTube video, titled: تطاير جثث عناصر ميليشيا أسد بعد انفجار استهدف رتلاً عسكرياً – سوريا (English translation: Bodies of Assad militia members fly after an explosion targeting a military convoy — Syria) published on March 4, 2019, on the official channel of Orient — a Syrian media outlet.
The video matches exactly with the viral clip and the description informs that it is a detonation in one of the Syrian President’s militia’s convoys when it was passing through the desert in Deir Ez-Zor, Syria. A soldier was capturing photos and videos of the convoy moments before the explosion occurred.
Conducting a Google Keyword Search, our team traced a news article in Al-Wasila — an independent Syrian Arab media website. The images in the article match with the keyframes of the viral clip, corroborating the claims made by Orient.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post’s claim is false.
