This year being the 40th anniversary of the switch-on, the event of lighting 6000 sparling lamps will take place on 29 October from 3pm to 9pm at several locations around Leicester city centre.

Organised in partnership with Mehala Ford, founder of a south Asian art collective, this year’s theme for Diwali Celebration is ‘Shine your Light’ at The National Maritime Museum. Expect delicious Indian sweets alongside dance performances, puppet shows and a special Sari Party with Irish-Indian-Malaysian DJ Tara Kumar on Saturday, 11 November 2023 from 11.30 pm – 5pm with free entry for all.

 

  1. iCAN Birmingham’s Celebrating Diwali in Midlands

Birmingham, with its diverse Indian community, hosts a range of Diwali events across the city. From temple celebrations to public events, you can experience the magic of Diwali throughout the city.

 

iCAN Birmingham in partnership with Beazley is hosting a Diwali celebration on Thursday 9th November from 17:30-20:00. The entry to the event is free of all costs.
