New Delhi: Netherlands pulled off a remarkable victory against Bangladesh in their ICC Cricket World Cup clash at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Saturday. Paul van Meekeren taking four crucial wickets and skipper Scott Edwards delivering a brilliant half-century helped the Dutch win by 87 runs.
With this loss against the Netherlands, Bangladesh is officially out of the World Cup title race, having lost five of six matches. The Netherlands has won two games out of their six.
The Dutch had set a target of 230 runs, with Scott Edwards scoring a half-century, Wesley Barresi contributing 41 runs, and Sybrand Engelbrecht adding 35 runs, all playing crucial roles in setting up the total.
