How Is Elon Musk’s ‘Grok’ Different From ChatGPT?

Date:

Elon Musk on Sunday announced the launch of Grok, an AI chatbot inspired by the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Musk informed that this all new chatbot can answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask!

Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak. An advantage of Grok is that it has real-time knowledge of the world via the X platform. The chatbot is still a very early beta product.

Just to give an idea of what exactly it will be like use Grok, Musk also shared a screenshot giving us all a hint of the chatbot’s sarcastic and playful tone. In the picture it can be seen, a query for a step by step guide to making cocaine was raised. The replies included statements like, ‘obtain a chemistry degree’ and ‘set up a clandestine laboratory in a remote location.

However, towards the end, it also added, ‘Just kidding! Please don’t actually try to make cocaine. It’s illegal, dangerous, and not something I would ever encourage.’

Musk had informed that, ‘As soon as it’s out of early beta, xAI’s Grok system will be available to all X Premium+ subscribers’. Grok has been built by Musk’s new AI company, xAI.

How is Grok different from ChatGPT?

Source of information: ChatGPT’s sources of information include Common Crawl, web content, books, and Wikipedia, whereas Grok will be using real time date from the X platform.

Price packages: Musk has informed that Grok will be available to all X Premium+ subscribers for USD 16 per month, whereas ChatGPT has two options- one is free but lacks real-time data updates, however the premium version is available for users at USD 20 per month.

Response style: Grok has a more witty style whereas ChatGPT uses a more communicative style.
