Putting the video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, our team spotted the same video in a report by Reuters, dated December 29, 2021, with a title: “Jordanian MPs brawl in Parliament.” According to the description, several deputies engaged in a fight inside Jordan’s parliament on Tuesday (December 28). Live footage on state media showed several MPs punching each other in chaotic scenes that lasted a few minutes.
Same visuals were also found in a report by The Guardian, dated December 29, 2021. As per the report, a scuffle broke out in Jordan’s parliament while discussing a proposed amendment to the Constitution on Tuesday. Heated arguments degenerated when MPs began pushing and shoving each other during the session in Amman.
Thus, based on the above fact check, it is clear that an old video from Jordan showing scuffle between MPs is widely circulated with a false claim.
