Upon conducting a reverse search on the viral image, our team found a Russian news report, dated September 27, 2017, featuring the identical image circulating in the viral posts. According to this report, the strikes on a residential area in the Deir Ez-Zur province of Syria were attributed to an international coalition led by the United States.
We also found a report in the “Viet Times” that included the same photo, along with additional images and videos of phosphorus bomb strikes. This report focused on a U.S. attack in Ar Raqqah, Syria, indicating that the image in question is not related to the current Israel-Hamas war.
The Syrian state-controlled news agency, SANA, had also reported the same incident of white phosphorus attack on a building in Syria in September 2017. The attack resulted in the death of three civilians, with five others sustaining injuries.
However, it’s important to note that Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al Kaila has made allegations that the Israeli Defence Forces attacked Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital with white phosphorus bombs, posing a threat to the lives of at least 39 children.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that an old image is falsely shared as Israel’s phosphorus attack on Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital.
