Fact Check: Old Video From 2021 Shared Ad ‘Jatayu’ Attending Ayodhya Ram Temple Ceremony

Date:

A video showing a flock of vultures on the roadside is widely circulated on social media. Many users claim that a group of ‘Jatayu’ has reached Ayodhya to attend the Ram temple ceremony.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: जटायु का झुंड पहुंचा अयोध्या

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be fake.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a Facebook post on an unverified account, dated October 7, 2021, with a caption: “Do you know the name of this bird?”

We found the same video posted on an unverified Instagram account in December 2021 as well. Here too, the video matches with the viral clip, but without any mention of Ayodhya or Ram Temple.

Although we could not find the original source of the viral clip, given that it has been online since 2021, it cannot be linked to the upcoming Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration. So, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming the group of ‘Jatayu’ has reached Ayodhya to attend the Ram temple ceremony, is false.
