Legendary Michael Jackson’s Biopic Set To Hit Screens In 2025

Date:

New Delhi: A biopic on the iconic Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is in the works and is set to release in 2025. Save the date to witness the life behind the legendary music. The film is scheduled to commence production on January 22, according to Variety.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and backed by Lionsgate, the biopic stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, portraying the iconic musician. Universal Pictures holds international rights (excluding Japan), and the script, written by John Logan (known for Gladiator and The Aviator), accompanies the production led by Graham King, with co-executors John Branca and John McClain from the Michael Jackson estate.

Lionsgate, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, said that the biopic aims to cover all aspects of Jackson’s life, with uncertainties on addressing controversies surrounding the late music icon. The focus is on the collaboration with Jackson’s estate, defending against accusations from the 2019 HBO documentary Leaving Neverland.

Described not just as a biopic but as a living testament to Michael Jackson’s artistic revolution, the film is spotlighted in the official synopsis. Born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson, the seventh of nine children from a working-class family, made an enduring impact on the music industry.
