Following the incident at the “hypersensitive” Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) took action by suspending a head constable, on charges of neglecting their duty.

The intruder, visibly intoxicated, was initially noticed on the runway by the pilot of an Air India flight around 11:30 pm on Saturday, leading to the pilot informing the Air Traffic Control (ATC), which subsequently directed the CISF to apprehend the intruder.

The pilot informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC), which directed the CISF to apprehend the intruder.

The man, hailing from Haryana, was held by CISF personnel and handed over to the Delhi Police.

In response to the major security lapse at the “hypersensitive” civil aviation facility, the paramilitary force initiated an inquiry and suspended a head constable who was on duty that day, according to sources.

The “alarming” incident took place during the heightened state of alert for ongoing Republic Day celebrations. Security agencies had implemented special measures to prevent sabotage activities due to the extreme cold weather and accompanying fog, as stated by a senior officer.
