A video of a woman dancing to the song ‘Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain’ has gained significant traction on social media, claiming that the woman in the video is Ananya Das, District Collector of Sambalpur, Odisha.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: *Dance performance by Sambalpur collector Mrs Ananya Das (IAS)*🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏🏻👏🏻जय श्री राम ये वर्तमान मेँ संबलपुर की कलेक्टर है..🚩🚩ब्यूटी, ब्रैंस और टैलेंट का अदभुत मिश्रण।

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a YouTube video, dated January 08, 2024, with a caption: “Mere Ghar Ram easy dance Choreography #meregharramaayehain #easydancesteps #jubinnautiyal #ayodhya.” The video matches with the viral clip, saying that Mradula Mahajan, a content creator, who uploads her work on social media platforms.
After comparing images of Ananya Das, the former collector (District Magistrate) of Sambalpur, with the woman in the viral video, it was evident that the woman in the video was not Ananya Das.
Furthermore, Ananya Das personally addressed the situation, stating that she was not the dancer featured in the video in X post, dated January 27, 2024, with a caption: Truly a good performance — sadly not mine😆.
Moreover, Ananya Das has recently assumed the role of Joint Secretary to the Government in the Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts Department. In her place, Akshay Sunil Agrawal, the current collector of Mayurbhanj, is set to succeed her as the collector of Sambalpur.
Hence, we can conclusively say that the woman dancing in the video is NOT the former Sambalpur district collector, Ananya Das.
