‘Udyan Utsav 2024’ Begins At Amrit Udyan; Open For Public From Tomorrow

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated ‘Udyan Utsav 2024’ at Amrit Udyan on Thursday which will open to the public from Friday.

Covering 15 acres, popularly known Mughal Garnden will showcase over 85 flower species, featuring attractions such as a floral clock and a designated selfie point.

As per the President’s office, President Droupadi Murmu’s participation in Udyan Utsav-I, 2024, held on February 1, 2024. During Udyan Utsav-I, Amrit Udyan welcomes the public from February 2 to March 31, 2024, excluding maintenance days on Mondays.

A highlight of this year’s event is the introduction of a theme garden, boasting 42,000 tulips of 18 varieties. Key attractions for visitors include a 225-year-old Sheesham tree and a Bonsai garden housing over 300 decades-old Bonsais. An elevated artistic ‘Amrit Udyan’ garden signature enhances the backdrop, serving as a picturesque selfie point. Additionally, a ‘floral clock,’ a stationary clock crafted from floral art, adds to the allure of the festivities.

Bookings for slots can be made online at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in or through self-service kiosks near gate no 35, with the booking process being free. Entry and exit for visitors occur at gate no. 35 of the President’s Estate, near the intersection of North Avenue Road and Rashtrapati Bhavan. A shuttle bus service from Central Secretariat Metro Station to gate no 35 operates every 30 minutes from 9:30 AM to 5 PM for visitor convenience.

Visitors are permitted to bring mobile phones, electronic keys, purses/handbags, water bottles, and milk bottles for infants. Facilities such as drinking water, toilets, and first aid/medical assistance are available along the public route.

Special category days at Udyan include February 22 (for differently-abled and visually challenged persons), February 23 (for personnel of defence, paramilitary, and police forces), March 1 (for women, tribals, and women self-help groups), and March 5 (for children of orphanages).

In addition to Amrit Udyan, visitors can explore Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum six days a week (Tuesday to Sunday), with the opportunity to witness the change-of-guard ceremony every Saturday, excluding gazetted holidays.
