New Delhi: The Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal unveiled the party’s second list of candidates On Tuesday. The announcement included 43 names from Assam, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Addressing a press brief Venugopal said, “We have already announced our first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Today, we are going to announce the second list. Yesterday, CEC met and cleared the list of around 43 names from Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan.”
Among these 43 candidates, there are 10 General candidates, 13 OBC candidates, 10 SC candidates, and 9 ST candidates. Notably, the list also includes 1 Muslim candidate.
Congress Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi is set to contest from Jorhat, Assam. Additionally, Nakul Nath has been announced as the Congress candidate for Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara constituency.
Rahul Kaswa is slated to contest from Rajasthan’s Churu constituency, while Vaibhav Gehlot is set to vie for the seat in Jalore.

Earlier, the Congress party revealed its list of 39 candidates for the upcoming elections. Among the notable names were Rahul Gandhi, who is set to contest from Kerala’s Wayanad constituency once again. Bhupesh Baghel, the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has been nominated to contest from Rajnandgaon.
Furthermore, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal is slated to contest from Alappuzha in Kerala, while Shashi Tharoor has been renominated from Thiruvananthapuram.
