New Delhi: In a heartening gesture, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, accompanied by several Supreme Court judges, extended warm felicitations on Wednesday to the daughter of a cook employed within the premises of the Supreme Court. The occasion marked a celebration of her remarkable academic achievement of securing a scholarship to pursue her Master’s in Law at two universities in the United States.
Pragya, a lawyer and researcher, proudly received felicitation from CJI Chandrachud and other judges in the apex court judges’ lounge.
CJI congratulated Pragya handed the Indian Constitution book signed by all the Supreme Court judges to her and congratulated her. CJI also honoured her mother and father, Ajay Kumar Samal, who has been working as a cook in the apex court.
CJI and other judges wished her luck in her future endeavors.
