A video of some people brutally thrashing a man is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that the video is from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, where BJP MLA Vipul Dubey is beating his house-help for demanding more salary.
The post reads: विपुल दुबे विधायक जौनपुर उनके यहां काम करने वाले एक गरीब आदमी को अपना वेतन मांगने पर बेरहमी से मरते हुए अब यह आदमी बीजेपी के नाम से ही नफरत करेगा जिसको अपने मेहनत का हर्जाना अपनी धुलवाई कराकर चुकानी पड़ी।यही है बीजेपी की गरीबों,दलितों, शोषितों और लाचार के प्रति व्यवहार और उपहार। ज्यादा से ज्यादा शेयर और लाइक करें जिससे एक गरीब को न्याय और अन्याई को सजा मिल सके।

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be misleading.
Putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image search, we found a screengrab of the viral video in a report published by ETV Bharat on April 17, 2022. According to the report, this video is Shahjahanpur district in UP. After the video went viral, the police took strict action and registered an FIR against three, including Prateek Tiwari, the main accused in the case.
On searching further, we found a similar report in Amar Ujala, where the main accused was identified as Prateek Tiwari. We also found that an FIR was registered at Sadar Bazar Police Station, Shahjahanpur District, Uttar Pradesh. In the FIR, the date of the incident is March 13, 2022, and the main accused is Prateek Tiwari.
Moreover, we also checked on My Neta but did not find any BJP MLA named Vipul Dubey from Jaunpur.
Thus, it is clear that the video is shared with a false claim.
