New Delhi: With the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its election manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ on Sunday. The manifesto outlines the party’s vision, policies, and promises for the upcoming elections.

The party released its “Sankalp Patra” at its headquarters in New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

  • In a bid to support the elderly population, PM Modi assured that individuals above 75 years of age would be brought under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Additionally, the transgender community will also be included in the health scheme.

  • The party manifesto announced an increase in the amount of the MUDRA Yojana loan from 10 lakh to 20 lakh.
  • PM Modi speaking at the Election manifesto said, “In past years, MUDRA Yojana has turned crores of people into entrepreneurs…Looking at this success, BJP has taken one more ‘sankalp’ – under MUDRA Yojana loans up to Rs 10 Lakhs were provided. Now the BJP has decided to increase the limit to Rs 20 Lakhs. I am confident that this will be used as a new strength towards building the kind of ecosystem that is required for the era of Industry 4.0.”
  • At the manifesto launch event, PM Modi announced plans to extend the reach of Vande Bharat trains across India. He revealed three new models of Vande Bharat trains: Sleeper, Chaircar, and Metro. Modi highlighted the progress of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project, nearing completion. He further stated that Bullet Trains would be introduced in North, South, and Eastern India, with preliminary survey work set to begin soon.
  • PM Modi further assured that the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits will persist for the country’s 10 crore farmers, emphasizing the party’s commitment to cooperative growth with the introduction of the ‘Rashtriya Sahkarita Niti’.
  • PM Modi also highlighted the party’s ambitious plans to propel India towards becoming a global nutrition hub with a strong focus on ‘Shree Anna’.
