A video claiming women in Telangana are washing clothes using water from the public fountains due to shortage of water in the state is doing the rounds on social media. Many users have criticised the government and the CM for such a pathetic condition in the city.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:

ఏం మార్పు రా అయ్యా ఇది

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team traced a news article in Disha Daily — a Telugu news organisation, on April 9, 2024. According to the article, the woman was washing clothes at a public fountain, but the incident happened in Andhra Pradesh, not Telangana. The fountain was constructed at Ganesh Chowrastha by the AP Tourism Department as part of the development of the city in Nidadavolu, Andhra Pradesh.
Searching further, we came across a YouTube video on the original channel of Suman TV, dated April 11, 2024. The video corroborates the claim that the incident happened in Andhra Pradesh, not Telangana.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show women doing their laundry in a public fountain in Telangana is false.
