Famous singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is basking in the success of her latest album, as reported by People magazine. Taking to her Instagram stories, the artist shared her excitement over the positive reception of “The Tortured Poets Department.” Swift first reposted Rolling Stone’s review, titled “Come for the Torture, Stay for the Poetry,” with an ‘Instant Classic’ stamp, adding her own quote from the title track of TTPD: “And that’s the closest I’ve come to my heart exploding.” She then reshared a five-star review from a U.K. newspaper and quoted her song “The Alchemy” with the line “These chemicals hit me like whiiiiite wiiiiine.”
Swift surprised fans with her 11th studio album, TTPD, dropping it on April 19 with 31 tracks. According to People, Taylor, who is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce, has much to celebrate after breaking multiple Spotify records with the album. Spotify announced that Swift had become the most streamed artist in a single day, with her album achieving over 300 million streams on its release day. Additionally, her single “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify’s history.
On Instagram, Swift shared her thoughts about the album, writing, “It’s a 2 am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album… I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
