Two terrorists have been gunned down in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the exchange of fire took place between the security forces and terrorists in Awneera area Shopian district.

“Security forces started a cordon and search operation in Awneera village of Shopian district yesterday evening following information about some militants hiding there,” newswire IANS quoted police sources as saying.
“When challenged today morning, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering an encounter in which one militant has been killed, ” they added.
Arms & ammunition have been recovered and a search operation is underway.
