New Delhi: In a major crackdown for the security forces, top-ranking LeT terrorist Asif has been neutralised in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore.
Asif was responsible for recent shootout and injuries to three family members of a fruit trader in Sopore. The injured also included a young girl Asma Jan.

He was also responsible for shooting at a migrant labour Shafi Alam in Sopore.
Meanwhile, two police personnel were injured in the encounter.
Addressing a presser, Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Dilbag Singh, said, “with his killing, I believe the area will heave a sigh of relief and the terror which he was creating there would be taken care of to some extent. We also know two of his other associates. We are after them and we will see that in the near future, we take care of them also.”
