German Chancellor to visit India from October 31st; relations set to soar further high

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be visiting India from October 31st for a period of three days. This will be a part of an inter-governmental dialogue.

Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Modi will be holding a dialogue on many issues. Issued related to renewable energy, technological cooperation, sustainable development, trade and investments, security and defence will be discussed.

Other issues of international importance such as Afghanistan too shall be discussed in detail.

The two leaders had met in June on the side lines of the G-20 summit in Osaka, Japan. They discussed cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and terrorism.

In the recent past, the relations between the two countries have been on an upswing. There have been some high level visits and Germany is India’s largest trading partner in Europe and a significant investor.
