Fact Check: Video of BJP flag being hoisted to the Indian national anthem is OLD

A video in which a man can be seen hoisting BJP’s flag to the Indian national anthem is doing rounds on social media.

“संविधान को बदलने की बात करने वाले राष्ट्रध्वज की जगह भाजपा का झंडा फहराकर, राष्ट्रगान गा रहे हैं…। हद तो ये है कि ये लोग दूसरों को सर्टिफिकेट बांटते फिरते हैं देशभक्ती की…।” the text read.

The video was shared extensively on Facebook after Republic Day celebration this year.

We ran a google search with relevant keywords found an article by The Free Press Journal dated May 15, 2018.

As per the article, The incident happened during an event of “Panchayat Chalo” Abhiyan in Bhopal and the then CM of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was also present at the event.

The above information proves that the viral video is OLD.
