COVID-19 has no nationality: UNESCO

Date:

Firmly refuting attempts to label the deadly COVID-19 virus as a “Chinese virus”, the UNESCO on Tuesday said that the effects of the virus and the virus itself is a global one, not belonging to any specific member state.

This statement/ clarification came after US President Donald Trump earlier had tweeted calling this virus a Chinese one and vowing to protect the US industries against the onslaught on the virus.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry had slammed this statement and in a statement devoid of evidence had alleged that it was the US that brought the virus to Wuhan, the epicentre of the virus.
