As the coronavirus cases continue to rise in India, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that India should be preparing itself not just for the novel coronavirus but for the economic devastation that is about to come.

Comparing the coronavirus and economy to a tsunami, he said our people are going to go through unimaginable pain in the next 6 months. 

It is like a tsunami is coming. India should be preparing itself not just for coronavirus but for the economic devastation that is coming. I am saying it again and again. Our people are going to go through unimaginable pain in the next 6 months,” Gandhi told reporters.
