COVID-19: Twitter allows employees to work from home ‘forever’

As the world is gripped by the Coronavirus pandemic, social media major, Twitter has announced work from home for an indefinite period for its employees.

In a companywide email, Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, said that Twitter will allow its employees to work from home ‘forever’.

The company is a blogpost confirmed saying, “if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen”.

Twitter was one of the first companies to let its employees work from home after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The microblogging site also said that “with very few exceptions, offices won’t open before September”.

We’re proud of the early action we took to protect the health of our employees and our communities. That will remain our top priority as we work through the unknowns of the coming months.

Reports suggest that Twitter has ‘strongly encouraged’ work from home since March 2 and even mandated the policy for employees starting March 11.

Reportedly, the company has increased its allowance for work form home supplies by $1,000.
