RaGa did not suggest that schools should re-open on an odd/even basis; this tweet is FAKE

A screenshot of a tweet attributed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is being shared on social media.

The tweet dated May 22, 2020, suggests that schools should re-open from June 1, 2020, on an odd/even basis.

“Schools and colleges should reopen from 1st June on an odd/even basis. Odd days teachers will come and even days, students will come, ” the tweet read.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be fake.

We checked the official Twitter handle of Rahul Gandhi but did not find any such suggestions made by him.

Since the dated of the tweet in the viral picture is May 22, 2020, we scrutinised all the tweets posted by Gandhi on the same date.

We found only two tweets of that same date. One was about the Karachi Plane crash and the other was a video of his interaction with the migrant workers.

From the above information, we can clearly establish that the picture and tweet in question is fake and Rahul Gandhi did not make any such suggestions about schools.
