Fact Check: Old video from Bangladesh fasely linked with Indian Army

Following the violent clash between Indian and China on the night of June 15-16, 2020, at Galwan Valley in Ladakh, a video is being shared on social media with a claim that it is of Indian soldiers being humiliated by Chinese troops.

“Humiliation of Indian soldiers at the hands of Chinese troops in Ladakh (Occupied Kashmir), ” the caption read.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We extracted the keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. The search led us to the YouTube link of the same video dated October 3, 2019.

“Bangladesh Army’s hard training situation.আর্মির ট্রেনিং বিশ্বজুড়েই ভয়ংকর।বাংলাদেশ আর্মি ট্রেনিং।” the title read.

We also noted that their names were written in Bengali.

We then notice the insignia on the uniform and found that it is the insignia 24th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army.

Based on our investigation, it is clear that the video is from Bangladesh and has no relation to the Indian Army.
