Ben Stokes Ruled Out Of IPL Due To Broken Finger

Date:

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder sensation Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the remainder of Indian Premier League 2021 due to a finger injury he sustained during the match against Punjab Kings on Monday.

The incident took place during the match when Stokes went on to take the catch off Chris Gayle. He was visibly in pain even though he did come out to bat in the Rajasthan’s innings, a match which they lost by 4 runs. The franchise put out an official statement confirming his condition. “Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a broken finger, which will, unfortunately, rule him out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021 season,” the franchise added.

However, Ben Stokes will continue to be in the Rajasthan Royals camp to provide his valuable inputs. The official statement also mentioned that in the meantime, the team will start exploring options for his replacement.

“Everyone at Rajasthan Royals absolutely admires Ben for being such a huge asset and a valuable member of the Royals family, both on and off the field, and wishes him a speedy recovery,” the franchise concluded.

Rajasthan Royals will next take on Delhi Capitals on Thursday.
