Vaccination Can Now Save Your Money; Indian Businesses Roll Out Offers For Inoculated Individuals

Date:

In a bid to lure customers and also encourage people to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, Indian businesses have rolled out offers and discounts on services, and items ranging from food to flight tickets. The initiative has been taken as the economy gradually re-opens from weeks of lockdown following the dip in COVID cases in the country.

In a similar move, Indigo airlines on Wednesday launched a 10% discount scheme for its vaccinated customers.

“The customers who have been administered either one or both the Covid-19 vaccine doses, can avail a discount of up to 10% per cent on the base fare while booking,” said an IndiGo press statement adding that the airline was the first one in India to roll out such an offer.

The offer is only available to vaccinated passengers aged 18 years and above, who are located in India at the time of booking and have already received a Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

Recently, a salon in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai decided to offer a 50% discount to customers who come with their vaccination certificates.

“We offer 50% off to vaccinated customers to raise awareness about the vaccine. We should be vaccinated to avoid the third wave,” said Salon’s owner Karthikeyan.

Digvijay, a pub bar operator told ANI, “Currently the footfall s down due to the pandemic. Therefore, the sales are down. So to increase sales there is a need to attract customers. Hence, such offers are introduced. This offer not only attracts customers but will also ensure that there is no spread of infection. It will also encourage people to get vaccinated which is a must.

DTH service provider Dish TV is offering free “one day worth of entertainment” to its customers after they upload the details of their vaccination on the company website.

The brand is also offering free subscriptions for a month to hospitals and nursing homes treating Covid patients.

“The second wave of COVID-19 has hit the nation hard and impacted all of us in some way or the other. It is important to maintain our vigil by following the crucial COVID-19 safety protocols and government guidelines and encouraging people to adhere to the same,” Anil Dua, Executive Director & Group CEO, Dish TV India Limited.

McDonald’s India has also launched a similar initiative named ‘We Care’ on its mobile application that allows vaccinated customers to access special deals like a 20 per cent discount on a minimum order of Rs 500.
